NOTUS: Michael Whatley In the Spotlight For Claiming “Inflation Is Dramatically Down”

DC insider Michael Whatley can’t escape his constant lies that “there is no inflation” and “inflation has fallen off a cliff.” A new column in NOTUS is highlighting some of Whatley’s out-of-touch comments:

NOTUS: The Republican Midterm Message on Inflation? Stop Whining!

“Michael Whatley, the GOP nominee for Senate in North Carolina, had this to say last year when he was the Republican National Committee chairman: ‘Gasoline prices are down 40 percent. Grocery prices are down … and inflation is dramatically down. Everything [Trump] said he was going to do, he has done.’”

Whatley also claimed last year that there would be a “very, very strong first quarter, second quarter” of 2026:

Michael Whatley: “So we’re very excited about the progress that’s been made so far, and what is coming in Q1 and Q2 of next year.”

Michael Whatley: “What we’re hearing from Scott Bessent, we’re hearing from, you know, the folks at the White House, the economic advisors, is that they’re fully expecting we’re going to have an economy that’s growing and very, very strong first quarter, second quarter of next year.”

But yesterday, far into the third quarter, data showed that inflation remains high amid the Iran War. Meanwhile, Whatley’s oil and gas stocks have spiked by up to hundreds of thousands of dollars after he has continually pushed for the war.
