Turkey’s annual inflation rate drops to thirty per cent

(MENAFN) Türkiye’s annual inflation rate eased to 30.89% in December, down from 31.07% in November, according to official data from TurkStat released Monday.

A recent Anadolu survey had projected inflation at 31%. Among major consumer categories, prices rose 28.31% for food and non-alcoholic beverages, 28.44% for transportation, and 49.45% for housing over the year. These categories contributed 7.07%, 4.36%, and 7.52%, respectively, to the annual inflation figure.

Month-on-month, consumer prices increased 0.89% in December, slightly above November’s 0.87%. The 12-month average inflation rate for 2025 stood at 34.88%, down significantly from 58.51% in 2024.
