North Korean President Urges For Strengthening Special Operations Forces
Kim, accompanied by other high-ranking military officers, observed the general tactical exercises as well as small-arms shooting competition on Friday, conducted by members of the special operations forces as part of their training program, based on a Korean news agency.
"The actual war capability for guaranteeing victory in the war field is bolstered up through intensive training and it is the most vivid expression of patriotism and loyalty to the country and the people, and the first revolutionary duty for the soldiers with arms to complete the combat preparations," Kim stated.
This visit occurred on the same day the South Korean Constitutional Court upheld the impeachment of previous Leader Yoon Suk Yeol, effectively removing him from his position.
Pyongyang did not release any comments regarding Yoon’s removal.
In response, Acting South Korean Leader Han Duck-soo urged for "tightened vigilance" against potential provocations supposedly from North Korea following Yoon’s dismissal.
